At Stuart Design we have committed ourselves to a programme for change to produce the smallest carbon footprint we can and to operate in an environmentally friendly way. This is why we do most of our invoicing and quotes via email. Stuart Design LIVE system also cuts down the need for proofing in conventional ways, causing a reduction in traffic and therefore carbon emissions.

One very large misconception that many people have is that printing on recycled paper is better for the environment. Unfortunately, this is not the case as recycling paper uses bleach and many other chemicals which are then released into the ecosphere.

• All inks are based on clean vegetable oil and supplied in eco friendly packaging.

• Having on site mixing technology which allows them to mix colours as required to pin point accuracy making their waste close to zero!

• All paper is processed using Elemental Chlorine Free technology to avoid the production of damaging toxins.

• All paper is sourced from European Union FSC grade forests where more trees are planted for the future than are felled each year. (For every tree that is felled, 3 are planted).

• After a top to bottom review by the Carbon Trust they have been implementing a number of energy saving solutions, from lights which turn themselves off when the sun shines, to motors which run up to 70% more efficiently.

• The printing plant is powered with green electricity which comes from renewable sources.
